“Our pain may pave the road by which God gives us more of Himself.”

Ezekiel 1-3 by Michael Lockstampfor (@miklocks)

SUMMARY

As we kick-off this new series we are introduced to Ezekiel, a man with a heavy heart--disappointed that he couldn't fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a priest. Yet in this moment of despair, God reveals Himself in an awe-inspiring vision. This illustrates that our pain may pave the road for God to give us more of Himself. The vivid description of God's throne and the celestial beings reminds us of His majesty and power. We're challenged to consider: do we seek God in our moments of trouble, or do we fixate on ourselves and blame others? Rather, let's internalize God's word--'eat' it and make it part of who we are--even when the message is difficult.

REFLECTION & DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  • 💬 What do we give our attention when we’re in trouble?

  • 💬 How much of God’s word makes up our very being?

  • 💬 Are we taking time to sit with God?
